Meet the Founders
Fabio Cecere
"I am pizzaiolo, meaning I trained in Naples in the old-fashioned pizzaiolo school under rigorous apprenticeship.
After mastering my craft in Naples, I expanded my experience globally, then working in Monza, London, Boston, and Los Angeles. In these cities, I've held various roles, from pizzaiolo to general manager to consultant for international brands. This global journey has enriched my skills and deepened my passion for authentic pizza-making."
Susie (Assunta) Caianiello
“I thrive in creating a purpose-driven business that delivers feeling good as an end result. With two master's degrees, a certification as a mindset coach, and an LMI in Neuroscience, my formal education spans both science and business. Despite this academic background, I chose to found this business because I love the fast-paced environment, the team experience, and the joy of making everyone feel welcome and right at home.”
The Pizza Vagabond is a place where we can share our beloved Neapolitan traditions and offer a slice of home to our community here in Amsterdam—our found home.
Our families and friends call us Vagabondi—wanderers—as we’ve always had wanderlust in our eyes.
We met in 2000 and have shared countless life experiences, living and traveling together across the globe. No matter where we landed, we always found ways to create a "home away from home." We soon realized that what always eased our homesickness was serving the enduring meals of Naples on our table.
As we grew older, our desire to find a place to put down roots grew stronger. The Pizza Vagabond was actually born many years ago when we realized that we always found and returned to "our home" through eating, making, and sharing our traditional food of Naples.
Vagabondi Together
We’re so grateful to be able to do the same with you here in Amsterdam and invite you to experience the warmth and flavors of our cherished traditions.
